The third edition of our summer course entitled “New trends in restoration of degraded soils III: trace elements, organic pollutants and constructed wetlands” (link) PDF will be held the 9th and 10th of October in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Casa de la Dehesa de Olarizu s/n, 01006) and will focus on the latest trends used for soil decontamination, examples from Europe and Canada. A case of phytoremediation practices (decontamination mediated by plants and soil microorganisms) for trace elements and organic pollutants is shown, including a specific session for the case of lindane. A session on artificial wetlands built to purify contaminated water is also included.
Field visits to contaminated and degraded sites of the Vitoria-Gasteiz sourroundings will be done (gravestones of Lasarte, Júndiz industrial polygon), where these techniques are being implemented or can be done in the short term.
The following day (11th of October) the PhytoSUDOE´s final conference will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Europa Conference Centre) and the entrance will be free (upon registration); more information in the “Events” section (coming soon).

Registration is available through the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) summer courses´ webpage (Online sign up Link).
Enrolment price reductions until the 31st of July.
